Blue Comparison: Seventeen vs. Flormar

Hey girlies! Whats going on? I've had this comparison on my to-do list ever since I bought these two colors and believe it or not today was the first time I used the Flormar one. I got these two at the same time but as I'll explain later they dont seem to be as old as each other when it comes to formula. You all know I have a little bias against Seventeen formula but sometimes the color is worth the pain. Anyway in the bottles these two colors look soooo much alike that you feel your getting the same thing. But I had a gut feeling they were different and so you'll see now. I put the letter S (for seventeen) or F (for Flormar) right under the nail I painted with that color.

Flormar Nail Enamel 423 on index and ring finger
Seventeen Supershine 279 on middle finger and pinky

As you can see Flormar is lighter than the Seventeen blue. Now I will describe the differences in these two polishes to make the decision of who the Blue Winner is.

Formula:

Flormar polish had a smooth and creamy formula and application was simple. It required 3 thin coats.
Seventeen polish had a clumpy and think formula and application was ok. It required 2 thick coats.

Because I've had these polishes for the same time I appreciate the Flormar formula alot more.

Round one goes to Flormar!!

Color:

I personally think the Flormar color is a funner and richer color because it has a light and summery feel to it. The Seventeen blue almost gives off a dirtier blue color.

Round two goes to Flormar!!

Brush:

I know brushes aren't a big thing to everybody but to me it is. I like bigger brushes it makes the streaks of polish look more complete and smoother. The Seventeen brushes are superrr tiny and the Flormar brush isn't the biggest but its a convenient size.

And round three goes to Flormar!!

A Flormar polish is sold for 1JD while a Seventeen polish is sold for 3.5JD's. I think we all know who the winner of this comparison is. So if your out shopping one day and find these two options definitely go with Flormar...it'll make your polishing life much better! Until next time.

Seventeen Supreme Gray swatch and review

Hey guys! Whats up? Weekend Time! I love it. So today I want to show you another Seventeen Supreme Color which is a gray creme. If you've read any of my posts on Seventeen polishes you'll know that I'm not the biggest fan of them. And thats because they dont really consider quality control. I dont like it when a company has the opportunity to care for the quality of their products and neglects it. Thats not to say their product is awful, otherwise I wouldn't have any of their polishes. But its a shame that they have such beautiful colors that dont apply well. And can you believe their bottles dont have names?! tsk...tsk! Anyway today I'm showing you the gray color from Seventeen Supreme.

As you can seen Seventeen Supreme 35 is a dusty blueish/gray creme which dries opaque in two coats but needs a third to even out the levels. You can see on my pinky nails that it hasn't really evened out well. Thats a big issue for me with these Seventeen creme polishes. And I say creme polishes because I dont have this problem with their glitter or foil polishes...those apply like a dream.

Its a shame really because their colors are beautiful and their prices arent so bad (3.5 Jd's or 5$). They aren't cheap as well so their quality should be better. The Seventeen brushes are fine and dont give me any trouble. Obviously application is a process because most of these polishes are on the thicker side. Drying time is average. Usually I dont keep these colors on my nails for longer than a few hours so I dont know how quickly they chip. Thats all I have to show you today!

Layered Sparkly Polish

Hey everyone! Hows your day going? Today I want to show you a little bit of layering I did that I really enjoyed. I started out with a Seventeen Super Shine Polish in number 500. I bought this such a long time ago I dont even remember. I tried it out once, didn't like it, thought I would give it to one of my little cousins, decided I wanted to give it another try (maybe it had potential), threw it in a box and never got back to it. Until now of course. I realized if I didn't like it on its own I would use Femme Fatale over it and see what happens. I wasn't really into it while it was alone on my nails cuz although its filled with sparkle it is so flat. Not a very interesting color.
Seventeen Super Shine #500
Then I applied Color Club in Femme Fatale to give it some extra sparkle and shine!

As you can see it totally shifted to another level. And I love that the sparkle isn't one constant color in all angles. You can see copper shimmer, pink shimmer, and even blue shimmer in some angles which really gives it depth. I guess the morale of the story is if you ever have a dull or boring color you can always make it more interesting by adding a layer of sparkle on it. Femme Fatale is a color I'm super happy I bought!

Vintage Rose Nail Art

Hey everybody! I want to apologize for my slight absence, I've just been really busy with school and stuff. Anywho, today I have a stamping design to show you that I did a couple of days ago but only just got around to show you. I dont want to talk alot so heres the pics.
Vintage Rose Nail Art

The base is Seventeen Super Shine in number 268 and then I stamped the rose design on it with a foil color from La Girls. I lost the name on the it so I dont know what its called. Its a lavender foil/metallic color that is amazing for stamping. Anyway, I really enjoyed this manicure and I hope you do too.

Minty Green Bows

Hello all! I think you may have noticed that I have a thing for bows. Yes...Yes I do. So whenever I want to fun up my manicure I tend to choose bows. And today being no different, my manicure includes bows. If you think my nails are slightly different lengths in my different posts, the truth is that they are. But thats because some of my pictures are of my right hand and some are of my left. In real life you cant tell that may nails are different lengths but in pictures (and super close) its obvious. So thats why.

Minty Green Bows

The reason I only have three nails showing in these pictures is because I ruined my index while taking pictures so I decided I just wouldn't show it lol. This is Seventeen Supreme Shine in # 30. Its a real creamy pastel light green color that screams spring time. I love colors like this because theyre expressive. The problem I have personally with Seventeen pastel colors is that they tend to blumpy. I dont a mix of blotchy and bumpy I guess. If you put too little layers its streaky and ugly, and if you put too many layers its looks like hills that collide to create a whole new world on your nail..also ugly. Sometimes 2 coats is enough for some of the polishes and sometimes you need three. Its very confusing. But still the colors are wonderful. I drew in the bows with a thin brush. And viola!

Metallic Gold Nails

Hey! This is gonna be a short post cuz I really gotta study for my exam tomorrow. So today I have a really really pretty polish on. I cant express to you how much I adore this color. Me and gold are best friends afterall. See for yourself.

Metallic Gold Nails

This Seventeen Super Shine in 529. This color is so festive and shiny. It calls for attention all by itself. I cant tell you how awesome this color looks. This is a color that I can rely on when I want my nails to make a
statement without having to do an actual design. What do you think? Is it all in my head?

Simple Rose Nail Art

Hello my lovelies! I am really excited to show you todays manicure because it has it has a rose design on it...Fun, right? So I chose a blue base color and then used a white drawing pen to draw in the rose petals. I really like the look and I'm going to experiment more on it in the future. I contemplated doing it on my entire nail or just the edge and thought maybe the edge would make it look simple and cute.

Rose Nail Art

The rose design is very easy to draw. All you need to do is a circle in the center and draw random half circles (more like squoval shapes) around it. I must say that the blue I used was disgusting. I love pastel blue but not exactly this shade. Also, I bought this color a long time ago but this was the first time I used it and it was gloopy and clumpy. I removed my polish so many times I wanted to start kicking and screaming. My roses usually look neater but I was running out of time and I had to go to school. Anyway, the end look is great and yells spring which I cant wait for! Ever had one of those bad polish days?

Reverse French Nails straight from the Runway

Hey everyone! Hows your day going? I was looking through this season's runway nail looks, and although I thought most of them looked butt ugly there was one that caught my attention. It was designed by Nars' Kim D'Amato for the Thakoon Runway Show. I did it and I think it looks super soft and feminine yet very modern. Mind you my french tips need a lot of work but they look super right in real life (darned zoom).

Reverse French Nails

For some reason and no matter what angle I took the pictures in the base looks a milky white...when in reality it is a beautiful soft pinky white. The color is sooo soft and girly I thought it would be a great contrast for the black tips but it looks white. Oh well! Anyway for this I used Seventeen Supreme in either 60 or 09...Grrr, I cant tell which. And then I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Black Out for the tips. Maybe I should stop mentioning the black that I use since its always the same. I just find it reasonably priced and so I use it for all my designs (which dont last longer than a day). Anywho, I like it a bunch...and I hope you do too. Have a great day!
