OPI Funny Bunny...Jelly/Flakie/Matte LOVE!

Hey girlies! Hows it been. I've been mentally stressed out over my distraught nails. I feel so bad for them and they are breaking more and more each day. I'm sure its because of my new work and lack of any protection on them. But they need to air out...and in the process they are getting much worse. So much so that my pizzaz for doing my nails has dwindled. That combined with my repeated catastrophic attempts at water marbling has helped me reach an all-time low. I hope this doesnt last for long because I need to get my spark back. Its not like I'm not buying nail polish, I am almost every day. Its just I havent been doing all the nail art I wish I would with all the new polishes I have. Grrr. Well anyway.

So today I want to show you something I'm IN LOVE WITH!. Like Hello! The base is OPI Funny bunny as you can tell from my post. Then I put some Essie Shine of the Times over it to make it more fun. Then I mattified it and my end result was something I was gawking over for literally hours!

So you know I wish I had a better camera specifically for polishes like these because honestly you in no way can see the depth of this polish simply through these photos. IRL they catch the light at every which angle and it in turn catches your attention and its a never-ending cycle. So these pics are before the matte topcoat. If you want to know how I got the previous combo, all I did was two coats of OPI Funny Bunny, which is a white semi-sheer jelly...not so extravagant on its own but really makes a difference in this manicure as opposed to a white creme. And here are the pics after the matt topcoat.

I think the last picture is the clearest because I used a much better camera for it. I just adore the awesome effect the matt gives it. I feel like it captures all the flakies in still time and you can see all the different light flickers together. I couldn't think of a better way to wear this mani than simply as it was. Love Love Loved it! Try it out you guys...You wont be disappointed.

Well not as disappointed as I am with my sad sad nails. I dont know what to do? Has this every happened to anyone of you? Any tips?

Thats all for now loves!

Misa Lovebite

Hey, hey, hey! Boy is Summer zooming on by. I cant believe we're almost in July. Of course half of the plans I had to do throughout summer aren't even close to being done. Which is what happens every year. But I still have time so heres to hoping. I just made an order from Zoya yesterday taking advantage of their awesome Pinterest Special. If you haven't seen this its for 3 polish from their Beach and Surf Collection for 15$ plus free shipping. Amazing. Its like buying one polish and gettting two free. How can I refuse. I'm also contemplating ordering a couple of polishes from Illamasqua if they still have their free international shipping. Cuz daaaang that can get expensive.

Anyway, so off topic. Today I have swatches of Misa Lovebite.

Misa Lovebite is a dark blood red vampy jelly. Yes it is a jelly as you can see it has that squishy-ness that characterizes a jelly. What I love about this polish (besides it being blood red) is that its application is fairly good considering its a jelly and dark red. Usually polishes like that are tricky to apply leaving streak lines all over your nail. But no this was very easy to apply. And formula was good too. I didn't necessarily like the brush on this polish though, I found it too small for my liking. The pictures above are three coats. I dont exactly know why I applied three coats. Its not that it wasn't enough at two but I just felt like it needed a third coat. But stay tuned because this polish will be the backdrop of a very excellent experiment I tried and I really want you guys to see it too.

Barielle Elle's Spell and a layering experiment

Hey everybody! How goes it? Today I'm going to show you the infamous Elle's Spell from Barielle. I have a had a crush on this polish ever since the very first time I saw it. I jumped at the chance to get it when I saw it on Transdesign. And when I saw it in the bottle I knew I wanted to layer it and see what would happen.

Index- Barielle Elle's Spell 2 coats
Middle- Misa Lovebite 2 coats + Elle's Spell 2 coats
Ring- Elle's Spell 4 coats
Pinky- Sally Hansen Black Out 2 coats + Elle's Spell 2 coats

I absolutely adore the million flecks in this. It shifts soo beautifully in light. And its color shift really shows up and in every light so its always fun to look at. I just wanted to do this experiment because I really think Elle's Spell is a versatile polish and can create many different looks. As you can see on my index finger with the 2 coats it really looks sheer and jelly-ish. Its still beautiful in its own way though. I didn't like it on the black-not my cup of tea. But I think my favorite was layering it over Misa-Lovebit because it gave it that vampy bloody red look. And thats my favorite polish color group so yeah, I would wear it like that or with the 4 coats by itself. Definitely my two picks. I hope this is helpful...and this polish was totally and completely worth every penny and lived up to the hype!
