Some Polka Dot Lovin On My Nails!

Hey girlies...hows it going? Today's gonna be a short post, I've been getting really busy with summer activities and work so I'm going to show you real quick some nail art I did.

For this design I used Essie No More Film, Essie Ole Caliente, Flormar 424, Inglot 721, Barielle Blossom, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Green With Envy (In order from Navy Blue at top of nail to Green at bottom corner). For the base I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On. Obviously this design is super easy to do, it just requires some patience. Great for summer wear. Anyway, thats all for now.

L.A Girl Grain and Polka Dot Edges

Hi! Hows it going? I have finals this week and the next, plus my brothers are coming to visit so I might be posting a little sporadically for the time. But I promise when I do get back to posting regularly I will be introducing a lot of new changes to avidlian, plus a giveaway is on the horizon..once I work out the kinks of shipping. So thats gonna be fun! Anyway today I have another older nail polish that I used in one of my designs here on my blog. It was my lace leopard mani, you can see it here. This polish acted as the base for that design.  So here is L.A. Girl in Grain.

L.A. Girl Grain a sheer goldish/silver color that dries to a pearlescent finish. I think the name Grain has some merit because it does remind of me of golden sand like that in Aqaba. But I honestly dont enjoy this color. I dont like pearlescent finishes especially when the color is so sheer! This took three coats and it could have used a fourth to even it more but I got bored with it. Also do you see how Streaky this is??? I mean...
As for this L.A Girl brush, its sooo tiny that you end up going on your nail with like 5 swipes to cover it...thats a waste of time!

I really didn't like this polish so I thought I would add something on it..I didn't know what so I just let my fingers lead the way..

My nails kinda look like kiwi's right? So I just used my little dotter and put some black dots around the perimeter of my nail. This is certainly a way that I would wear this color...but still its not growing on me too much. Ya live and learn right? Thats all for today. Peace and love!

Polka Dot Half-Moon Manicure!

Hey! How are you doing today? I know it may seem like I'm doing alot of the same "ideas" on my nails recently, its just that when I rely on the internet and fellow bloggers for designs I like to see a variety of looks on the same idea. So I feel like I owe it to my members to do the same. So I have a couple of lace mani's, heart mani's, polka dot mani's...etc. Btw, my mom thinks this is the cutest manicure she's seen so far...so thats a big thing for me! I love her approval and appreciation of my never-ending love for all things nails. Oh and also I've been wanting to try doing the whole half-moon manicure, and so I thought I could combine them together and see what came out...and me likey! Please excuse the fact that the bottom of my nails are blue...they just never look pink in winter! Anyway, here's what I did. See for yourself...

Polka Dot Half-moon Manicure

I felt like the true color of the purple wasn't really showing so I took it inside and this is how it came out...

For this look I used black nail polish to paint the base and shaped it at the beginning in the half-moon design. Next I used three different sized dotting tools (or anything else) to make the pastel lilac dots. I used Seventeen Supreme in number 288. And finally I used LA Colors Art Deco Nail Art Lacquer in Silver Glitter to line the half-moon design. No topcoat. And that was all. So what do you think?

Studded Polka Dot look: Entry for Chalkboard Nails

Hey everyone! So I recently found that Sarah from Chalkboard Nails is hosting a Nail art contest. You can only use your dotting tool. I thought that would be pretty fun and interesting, so I decided to enter and here is my look. Its just a simple semi circle dot design on each nail and on my ring finger I used to a matte black polish to make the flower and outlined it with Flormar Plus Quartz in 064 which is this awesome silver green color. The end look came out like a studded belt I think. I love it. I dont have an actual dotting tool so I used a sewing pin to get this done. It wasn't difficult at all and I think anyone could recreate this look if they desired.

Polka dot Nail art

I know that my design is super simple compared to some of the other entries but its very flattering on my nails and just an overall easy look to do! Peace and Love!

Haute Couture Polka Dots

Hey Everyone! How are you doing today? I'm going to be honest...I have a million and one designs in my head to do. But I keep postponing them. Why is that, you ask? Only God knows...seriously. I feel so bad that when it comes time to do my nails I give myself 200 excuses why I should leave the designs for later... I need to get that one polish...My nails are too short...excuses...excuses. Tsk...Tsk! Well I am going to do nail art all next week, so stay tuned. For now I have a simple yet adorable mani for you.

Color Club Haute Couture and Polka dots

My polka dots didn't really come out as neat as I wanted, but you can barely notice the flaw in the real life. So I used I believe two coats of Color Club's Haute Couture which is a deep reddish brown color. The first time I applied this polish I hated it...I thought it was unflattering, but then again it was mid-summer. When I tried it again the other day I realized just how beautiful it really is. It can be a bit streaky though, so be careful while applying it. I used a quite a bit of metallic/foil polishes to dot my ring finger. I used silver, gold, pink, and purple...but obviously you can do any combination. So thats all for today. Ciao bellas!
